Reasoning with a 3 year old

This is a picture of our driveway. To the left is the street, the right, our back yard. Our daughter, three, independent, full of moxy as someone once described her, was playing in the back yard but decided to go around to the front of the house to knock on the door.

After my husband explained to her that she needs to stay in the back yard when she is playing, he drew a line on the drive way with chalk and told her to stay behind the line. In return she took the piece of chalk and drew the line to the left and said "I will agree to this."

Oh boy, I think we are in trouble.

Oh. Goodness. Looks like you've got your work cut out for you. Cheer up, though. That's what leaders are made of. She reminds me of my oldest. When he was little, he'd tell anybody what he thought. Got him in trouble a few times, but always a learning experience. Some teachers didn't like a kid with such assertiveness, but it wasn't ever the really good ones. An awesome trait to have, but girl, you'd better go get some rest. You're going to need it. Bless your heart, and hers too. Keep the stories coming!

    LOL, I love it!
"You're lucky your cute" is what I always say to my nephews. They have "moxy" too.

  3. Meems I think I'm going to steel that phrase from you. LOL

Lori, I love seeing her independance. She is a tough cookie and certainly not a push over. I love seeing that in a girl and I hope she keeps that up through her teenage years. Thank you for the words of encouragement and advice about getting rest now. My only wish is that we can keep up with her.

Have a great day you two!

I would love to hear from you!
