Giant Pumpkin hope

I thought I had lost all hope of growing a giant pumpkin. The first giant pumpkin became dormant and then started to rot. I attributed it to the weird weather we have been having and started to loose hope that we would have giant pumpkins by October.

Then the vine started to show signs of life again.  Something was growing.  Another pumpkin!!!  It is now the size of a basketball.  With all of the rain that we have been getting, things are looking good for October.

Oooh, a pumpkin!! I forgot to try to grow pumpkins this year. I have that on my list for next year! This one isn't orange? What kind of pumpkin are you growing?

  3. Good Morning meemsnyc. It is a giant pumpkin. First year growing it so I'm not sure if it will turn orange towards the end of the growing season or if it will remain this light yellow color. If I judge by what I have seen at the state fair the color will remain about the same.

I have about 3 or 4 different varieties of pumpkins growing this year, for the most part, they are still green and are starting to turn.

I would love to hear from you!
