Your vote! What color should I choose?

Ok folks, the green house will be going up this week.  My excitement is pouring out of my fingertips.

Well as you may know, we are taking down an old garage but leaving the frame to attach the polycarbonate.  The entire thing will be built just as I wish, which leaves me in the beginning stages of second guessing my decisions. Usually I am fairly good about knowing what I want.  This time, I want to make sure it is just right.

The first step is to paint the frame with outdoor, mold resistant paint any color I wish. I decided I wanted to go towards a vintage feel but didn't want white.  I am leaning towards green as I believe it will complement the greens in the garden, the rustic, worn white wood we will be reusing as shelving, and any unfinished weathered wood of an old deck that we will be using as a patio adjacent to the green house.

My problem is what color green?  Below are my selections:

Vanilla Mint

Green Mist

Pale Green

Magic Mint

There are two that I am partial to but would like to hear what everyone else has to say before I make my selection.  I know, they are close in color.  That my friends is what is making it so difficult.

Looking forward to your suggestions...even if it is a different color pallet altogether.

I like the Pale Green! Second choice is Vanilla Mint. Any of these will look great! How exciting to be at the painting stage! I can't wait to see pictures!!!

  2. I just painted chairs the magic mint color(actually fairy green) but close. They really stand out in the garden. I would do a darker green for the greenhouse.

  3. I agree with other Laura, Pale Green and Vanilla Mint. The little bit of blue in them will ground the structure while still blending well with plants. The brighter colors might compete a bit, and don't look as natural.

  4. Hello Frugal Gardener.

It is difficult to choose a color without having a visual refference of the place where you will apply it and your overall decorating idea. All the colors you've chosen are beautiful by themselves.

If you are located close to Brussels one of our free interior decorators can help you with the choice of colors and paints to use.

  5. Thank you everyone for your input! Combined with what I received on Facebook, twitter and this page, I believe I have narrowed it down to 1.

@Miniox, thank you for your offer however I am a very long way away from Brussels.

I will be purchasing paint on Friday and will let you know what I decide. Have a wonderful day!

I would recommend that you that the chips outside to look at them as the daylight will effect your perception of them. (The colors will look brighter outdoors.) Myself I would go for one of the grayer colors if you are looking for a vintage feel- that would be the Pale Green or Vanilla Mint. If you want something edger, then I would go with one of the brighter shades.

  7. @threedogsinagarden Thank you for that very important reminder to actually take them outside. Colors look completely different inside and on the computer screen. I will be sure to do so before the purchase. Thanks again!
